|Net Worth||$16 Million|
|Source of Wealth||Music|
|Date of Birth||18th of June 1994|
TakeOff was born as Kirshnik Khari Ball on the 18th of June 1994 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, which is in Gwinnett County, near Atlanta. He was raised by his single mother(after his father abandoned him and his mother when he was still an infant) along with his cousin, Offset, and his uncle, Quavo in Gwinnett County. Since they grew up together, their bonding became even closer since they all loved music which inspired the creation of the group Migos.
TakeOff began showing interest in rapping from a very young age. At just 8th grade, he’d already started rapping, taking the vibes more seriously. He started performing in school’s and local events in his part of town which began to gain his prominence and recognition. TakeOff launched into his rap career fully in 2008, rapping with his uncle, Quavo, and cousin, Offset as they formed the rap group Polo Club, which they later changed to Migos, as the former wasn’t catchy enough for them. However, even after the formation of the group and the name change in 2009, TakeOff and his group decided to drop their debut full-length project titled ‘Juug Season’ on the 25 of August 2011.
That mixtape was followed by another on the 1 of June 2012, titled, ‘No Label’. But, even after the release of these two mixtapes, the group still struggled with recognition. However, the struggle was settled in 2013 after they release the single titled, ‘Versace’ which went viral, giving them the kind of recognition they have always wanted.
The popularity of the TakeOff and his group was further heightened after famous Canadian rapper, Drake, did a remix of the song the following year. Seeing the sweetness of success and enjoying mainstream recognition, TakeOff and his rap group Migos, decided to work and complete their debut album which titled, Yung Rich Nation, which was released on July 2015. The album which featured guest appearances such as Chris Brown, and Young Thug, was ranked at #17 on the Billboard 200.
Enjoying success, the rap group Migos released their first number single in 2016, ‘Bad and Boujee’ which they featured Lil Uzi Vert. The song peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 during the week of January 21, 2017, and was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) as four times platinum. However, TakeOff was not part of the recording of the song nor did he receive any credit to the song even though he appeared on the video.
It was later deduced that he wasn’t featured on the hit song simply because he (TakeOff) was busy at the time of recording. When asked about his absence in the recording of the song by Joe Budden, host at the Complex’s Everyday Struggle at the BET Awards 2017 and DJ Akademiks, TakeOff replied, “Do it look like I’m left off “Bad and Boujee”?”. His response to that question from Budden almost caused a tantrum before security stepped in and calm was established. TakeOff later worked for his group and they released their second album titled ‘Culture’ on January 26, 2018, and it went on to peak the #1 spot on the Billboard 200, selling more than 38,000 copies in its first week of release.
It might seem surprising to know that the rapper TakeOff hasn’t been seen or linked to any girl in the past or the present. But, it doesn’t mean he may have not had a relationship or two down the years. TakeOff is the youngest of all three rappers in the group Migos. In 2016, TakeOff made his debut on TV in an episode of the comedy-drama series named Atlanta. The episode was titled ‘Go for Broke’.
In March 2014, TakeOff was involved in a near-death experience when an unknown shooter shot the van with him and other members of his team inside from a vehicle next to them. Thankfully, there were no casualties after the shocking event. On July 7, 2017, TakeOff was taken off a flight leaving for Des Moines from Atlanta after the rapper refused to move his bag from the floor to an overhead storage bin before takeoff.
