Full name Roger Harry Daltrey was born on the 1st of March 1944 in Hammersmith Hospital, West London to Harry Daltrey who fought during the Second World War.
He began his education at Victoria Primary School and showed great prospects as he topped his class which got him admitted into Acton County Grammar School.

Daltrey was a lover of music, and he personally constructed his own guitar from the wood.
After school, he worked in a metal workshop and became part of the musical band known as “the Detour” together with his classmates Entwistle and Townshend.
Keith Moon a friend of his later joined them and the group after some modifications changed its name to The Who.
The group released their first song in 1965 titled “I Can’t Explain” which was at the top of the UK music chart.
The success of their first single prompted them to release another single in 1967 titled “Happy Jack” which made waves in the United States thereby spreading their fame.
Roger Daltrey went solo in 1973 and released some songs which include Daltrey (1973), Ride a Rock Horse (1975), One of the Boys (1977), McVicar (1980), and Parting Should Be Painless (1984).
