Katherine von Drachenberg was born on March 8, 1982 in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, Mexico to parents; father René and mother Sylvia Galeano.
Her parents were deeply religious members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is an American with German-Italian descent thanks to her father, as well as Spanish roots from her mother.
Kat has a sister named Karoline and a brother, Michael. Her family moved to Colton, California when she was aged 4.
She began taking up training classes in piano at age 6. As she grew older, her love for art began to illuminate.
Kat has cited her earliest inspiration for her interest in music and art to be her grandmother, Clara von Drachenberg.
At age 12, Kat started to listen to the Ramones, Misfits, and other punk rock bands and got her first tattoo at age 14 before quitting school at age 16 to fully pursue her dream of becoming a tattoo artist.
