Allison was born on July 29, 1982, in Preetz, West Germany. Her father, Jonathan Mack, was an Opera singer while her mother is Minder Mack.
The first two years of her life were spent in Germany where her father worked but the family later relocated to California, USA

After her family moved back to the U.S, Allison started showing interest in acting when she turned 4. She appeared on a television commercial for a German chocolate company but later revealed that the job was frustrating to her as a child. Mack had this to say:
“my very first job was a commercial for German chocolate and it was all in German. . . I wasn’t allowed to swallow the chocolate. I would take a bite and then at the end of every take I’d have to spit it out. That was very frustrating, especially for a kid”.
